Gum surgery

Gum surgery is most often performed to treat periodontal tissue damage caused by periodontitis, or an inflammation of the periodontal tissue. Gum surgery is also performed to fix gingival recession, remove gum hypertrophy, shape the periodontal tissue before manufacturing a prosthetic crown, and to reinforce the gum before orthodontic treatment in order to prevent gingival recession.

In treating the most common reason for surgery, periodontitis, gum surgery aims to fix damage in the periodontal tissue and shape the tissue in order to make it easier to keep the teeth clean.

We are specialised in periodontics and perform the surgery. The patient will be administered local anaesthesia. At the end of the surgery, the gum will be closed with stitches.
